Tragic Goodyear Accident Leaves Two Cyclists Dead and 11 Others Fighting for Their Lives

Police reported that after the group was struck by a pickup truck on the Cotton Lane Bridge in Goodyear early on Saturday morning, two adult bicyclists were killed and 11 others suffered severe injuries. On Saturday just before 8:00 a.m., Goodyear police were called to a severe collision involving a sizable number of adult cyclists on the Cotton Lane Bridge in the West Valley. After a pickup truck struck the group of cyclists, one woman was found deceased on the scene when authorities arrived, according to the police.

Following the collision, twelve more cyclists were transported to three separate hospitals, according to Lisa Berry, a representative for the Goodyear Police Department. According to authorities, one more cyclist passed away after being taken to the hospital, while the other 11 are receiving medical attention for their wounds. According to Berry, the pickup truck’s owner stayed on the scene.

While police investigate the collision, Cotton Lane will be closed in both ways between MC85 and the traffic circle at Estrella Parkway.
